Tuesday Tidbits

Bryce and Joe are a dangerous two-some as they are drilling holes in the walls to install Bryce's surround sound speakers in the family room. These kind of processes are not good for me to witness so I am here in the office trying to catch up on my virtual "to do" list that I seemed to have created for myself. I just keep telling myself that blogging is like keeping a journal and the church is always telling us to write in our journals!!! :) Anyway- I am sure that Bryce will get everything to work out nicely. He seems to care about this stuff and I think that the volume that comes from the massive tv is just fine.

I don't have anything dramatic or new to add so I will just tell you a few things that I have loved about this week!

Landen came up to me and gave me such a big tight hug around my neck this week! He hasn't really given good tight hugs before (besides the ones that he does to not be put down or given to the babysitter... but those aren't the same.)

Braxton's Sunbeam teacher always comments on how he is the MOST reverent kid in their class! I am impressed cause he is even one of the youngest sunbeams! He did a great job on his part for the Sacrament Meeting Primary Program on Sunday!

Abbey is such a great singer! She is always singing some sort of song in the morning. She doesn't enjoy getting up for choir but seems to really like learning the songs. I think that we know the words to the Grinch song pretty well now! It is her facial expressions that make everything else come alive too. We were just laughing with Bryce and I about how our kids are sucked into the infommercials on tv. They are completely sold and give us the sales pitch with exactness. They still can't figure out why we don't own a "pancake puff pan," a pasta bowl that you can microwave, some sort of storage bag that vacuums out the air to conserve space, etc... They keep working on us each Saturday morning.

Bryce will be heading out to "5 Miles of Hell" on Friday morning. It will just be me and the kids this weekend! Not exactly sure what we are going to do besides the usual chores. We will have to come up with something special for being ditched!!! :)

I survived another orthodontist appointment. I got some new rubberbands to wear and they are not fun. I can barely open my mouth to to fit a ritz cracker sized piece if I am lucky. I guess this takes care of me sneaking the kid's halloween candy during the day! How do people survive this? I guess more milkshakes will have to replace my healthy eating of fruits and veggies that are hard to chew! :)

Some Halloween FUN!

Halloween was a BLAST! The day started out early trying to help Bryce get dressed up for work! It took a few tries to get his chest of balloons at just the right size. He has some sexy legs in my heels too! We then got the other kids ready and headed off to Abbey's school to see the Halloween parade. Abbey dressed up as an elegant princess and was almost late for school since the kids just wanted to watch their dad transform into a woman! (Landen wasn't too sure about the idea and kept running away when he would see Bryce. Braxton kept telling me all day that he didn't like dad's new hair-- the blonde wig.) Braxton had several costumes for the day..l He started out in the batman costume and was all set to go to Abbey's parade until about 3 minutes before we were to leave and he decided that he wanted to be "Blackbeard the pirate!" We quickly changed and painted on facial hair and rushed out the door. That costume didn't last long and he was on to the next one when we got home. I dressed Landen up in one of Abbey's old dresses and did his hair to look like a girl and he was sooooooo CUTE!!!! We took him to the school and to the grocery store like that. We did finally change him into his lion costume to go trick or treating. He was adorable all day! Braxton finally settled on being "Indiana Jones" about 2 minutes before we were supposed to leave to do Abbey's little class party. Since we had no official costume for this one we had to make a mad dash around the house. I am not sure why I didn't just tell him to get one of his other costumes on... probably cause he has asked me 20 times to be Indiana Jones and I told him "no" cause we already had 3 other costumes for him to wear! He was a happy camper though with his make shift outfit and was more than thrilled to have a whip!!! (and he was really good to be careful with it the entire time!) The kids had a blast trick or treating. It only took 2 houses for Landen to catch on to the idea that you just have to go to the door and they give you candy! He wanted to hold each piece in his hand and finally gave in to putting the treats in his bucket-- which NOBODY was allowed to touch to help him up and down the stairs. Somebody was a little posessive of their candy! A few houses into trick or treating he realized that he could eat a sucker with the wrapper still on and was a sticky mess! We all had a great time. Bryce was a good sport to go around our street in his costume and then manned the door all night. I bet some trick or treaters got quite the surprise as by the time we came back home most of his costume had been ditched and he just looked like a man in women's clothing with eye makeup! Definately not somebody you would want your kids around!

Today I made a HUGE breakthrough! I went to an all day "crop" with a neighbor and organized my 2 rubbermaid bins full of pictures into each seperate year! WOW for me!!! Now they are hounding me to scrapbook it all and that is a bit of an overload! As for now... I can at least have a better idea of where to find a photo when I need it! I do want to get more photo albums to put my favorites in so that we can see them often. While I was gone Bryce went on a ride with his friend Brook Monroe down in Spanish Fork and Brook's wife watched our 3 kids! WOW! Bryce really owes her big! (It was actually Brook her volunteered her... he might be in deep trouble.) Then Bryce brought the kids home and made them "camper's special" for dinner and did the dishes!!! WAY TO GO BRYCE! I am impressed... so much so that he is gone again for a "night ride" with Brook and Rich. Let's hope that Bryce doesn't come back with another huge scrape on his body again like last time! I can't handle any more scabs showing up on my pillow case! GROSS! Anyway- I must not get out much cause Bryce just kept telling me how glad he was that I went and had fun today. Maybe it doesn't make him feel so guilty for going riding! :) Who knows.

Well- that's about it for our update. We are keeping our fingers crossed that Kristie's little baby, Whitney, will get to come home from the hospital soon! Keep Kristie, Travis and Whitney in your prayers! She is such a little doll and we can't wait for her to get off oxygen so we can hold her!
